SASA YOGAM

1.    What is Sasa Yogam

When Saturn is posited at kendras to Lagnam at its own house(ruler) or at its Ucha sthanam, it gains a Yogam called Sasa Yogam.

2.    Will Saturn Give this Yogam only when it is Yoga-karaka or otherwise also?

There is no need that Saturn should be a Yoga-karaka. Saturn becomes a Yoga-karaka only for Vrishapam when he is the ruler of 9^th and 10^th houses and for Thula when he is the ruler of 4^th and 5^th houses. The effects of Yoga-karaka are different. But the concept of Sasa Yogam is different. This Yogam is obtained only when he is in Kendras (1, 4, 7,10th houses) as a ruler or in his uchasthanam.

3.    Where, in which lagnas, such status will be given to Saturn?

For Mesha lagna he gains ucha status at Thula (7^th House) which is a Kendra and a ruler status in Makara (10^th house) where he is the ruler. So here Saturn can get Sasa Yoga status and will transfer the effects or the results of this yogam to the native.

For Vrishapa Lagna he gets the ruler status at Kumba when he is the ruler of 10^th house and gets Sasa Yogam and transfers the effects to the native.

For Kataka Lagna, he gets ucha status at 4^th house Thula and ruler status at 7^th house Makara and thus gets Sasa Yogam transferring the effects to the native.

For Simha Lagna, he gets ruler status at Kumba, the 7^th house and gets Sasa Yogam transferring the effects to the native.

For Thula lagna, he enjoys the ucham status at lagna itself and gets the ruler status at the 4^th house makara thus gaining Sasa Yogam and transferring the effects to the native.

For Vrichika Lagna, he gets ruler status at 4^th house of Kumba and gets Sasa Yogam.

For Makara Lagna he gets the ruler status at first house itself and ucha status in Thula, the 10^th house and gains Sasa Yogam.

For Kumba lagna he gets ruler status in 1^st house and gets Sasa Yogam. But Kumbam is owned by Rahu also.

4.    What is the effect of Sasa Yogam?

Saturn represents Vayu (Air) Thathva. So this element will play a predominant role in his behavior when he is blessed with this Sasa Yoga due to Saturn’s position in lagan kendras. One born with this yoga will be a great man of airy nature. He will be rabbit-like because Sasa means rabbit. He will be wise and enjoy wandering. He will be very comfortable in forests, mountains and forts. He will be valorous and has a slender build. He will easily know the weaknesses of others. He will be lively, but has some vacillation. He is charitable.

Well, this is the general prediction. But at the same time we should keep the following in our mind while predicting about this Sasa Yogam.

Saturn is the natural malefic.

When he is in kendras he generally do not give harmful effects to the native, a quality for all natural malefics in kendras.

While positing himself in a Kendra which house he owns play a major role in his effects.

When he sits in 1^st house, he influences the natural behavior of the native; in 4^th house he influences on the happiness, mother, properties, vehicles, education of the native; in 7^th house he influences the relationship with the spouse and with business partners; and in 10^th house he has a telling effect on the career of the native.

When he is gaining Sasa Yoga, he becomes a marakathipathy as well as badhakathipathy at Thula for Mesha lagna; he is the Badhakathipathy for Vrishapa owning 9^th house; he becomes a marakathipathy as well as badhakathipathy at Thula for Mesha lagan; he becomes a marakathipathy as well as badhakathipathy at Makara for Kataka Lagna; he owns the 12^th house also for Kumba indicating expenses.

For Thula lagnam, when he sits there in ucha sthanam and gets Sasa Yogam, he loses his Dig bala. [Saturn gets Dig bala in 7^th house but looses it at Lagan.]

At Kumba he may not be the real ruler and instead leave that status to Rahu if Rahu is stronger than Saturn.

So, one should consider all these aspects before predicting the effects of sasa Yogam. Either the houses that are responsible for this Yogam or Saturn should not be afflicted. Even a small affliction is likely to deny the effects of Sasa Yogam.

In case when Saturn gets Sasa Yogam, Venus (Sukran) and Mercury (Bhudhan) who are friends of Saturn are associated with Saturn in the same house, wow!, then we can give maximum credit to the Yogam effects. Venus represents Lakshmi, Bhudhan represents Vishnu, though there is a conflict of Thathwa with Mercury(Bhudhan).

5.    Where is this Yogam to be seen?

It should be seen only in Rasi Chart.

6.    Which lagna gains much or better from sasa Yogam?

I will say Thula gets maximum followed by Vrishapa. All other lagnams gets effects considering so many other factors with plus and minus.
